In their continuous efforts and commitment to empower local small, medium and micro-enterprises (SMME), the Atlantis Business Chamber has recently met with Group Five to address SMME empowerment and development in Atlantis.

After negotiations, in which Eskom played a major role, the parties agreed that the following work packages and skills requirements would be made available to the community.

These include supplying bulk photocopies (A0, A1), large-scale lamination (A0, A1 and A2), a courier service (from Cape Town to Johannesburg), supply of stationery, supply of drinking water, supply of sugar, tea, coffee, washing powder, toilet rolls etc, cleaning companies (site offices and accommodation), waste management (waste removal, skips) and civil and building works (supply and installations as per specifications) as well as hand and excavation works, rebar works, concrete works, brickwork, plastering, painting, doors, windows, ironmongery, roofing, paving, electrical work, plumbing work, air-conditioning works, and small mechanical, electrical instrumentation and plumbing work (SMEIP)
