The Western Cape Department of Health incorrectly stated that the Atlantis Community Policing Forum (CPF) would provide extra security around the Wesfleur Hospital premises, in the wake of construction about to take place there.
This, according to a department spokesperson, in response to a letter run in the newspaper on Tuesday 8 August, sent by a member of the public concerning lack of infrastructure space for parking at the hospital
The spokesperson, Monique Johnstone, stated: “We would, however, wish to state correctly that engagements took place with various role-players to look at solutions to the parking and safety concerns outside the hospital’s premises, and how the issue could be resolved for all parties concerned.”
Wesfleur is engaged in expanding its medical records section and waiting area, and will place containers in the parking area.
Johnstone requests that the public accessing the hospital be patient with hospital staff during the construction process, which will ultimately benefit all.
