And so the Stormers have shown us they are human after all. I, for one, could not think of a better team to lose to than the Lions. They’ve been playing sensational rugby.

But Siya Kolisi and co will have to dust themselves off, pick up the pieces, and get back to the business of Super Rugby. For it still is a loooong way to go.

On the football front, we’re headed into the final stretch of an English Premier League season that has produced more magic than David Copperfield in his prime. The top four spots are far from decided. Still plenty to play for as teams continue their pursuit of champions league qualification.

Oh dear X but it is tough being an Arsenal supporter these days. A poor run of form has seen them slip further down the table, and calls for manager Arsene Wenger to get the boot are getting louder. Interesting times ahead at the Emirates.

Meantime, my beloved Man United are slowly starting to steal hearts again. They’ve been playing some fearless and some beautiful soccer. Make we wanna cry, those Red Devils. But we still have a few key games coming up, and those will decide our fate for next season.

Just a few weeks in, and the Formula One season is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting in years. Remember, it is minus the world champion Nico Rosberg, who promptly retired after capturing the title.

And for those of you who thought Mercedes would once again set the early pace, think again! I had this feeling in my small toe that Ferrari would be super competitive in this campaign. And man, oh man – have they already proved me right. Sebastian Vettel is a thorn in Lewis Hamilton’s side. My money is on the Italian F1 outfit to go the distance and actually win the whole damn thing this year.

A change in IAAF rules means our 400 m world record holder, a certain Wayde van Niekerk from Cape Town can now also compete in the 200 m event. And that means we could very well see him run against Usain Bolt at the world championships this year.

That would be something incredible to watch.

We’re waiting for word from the legend on whether he will actually make it so.

Go on Wayde X your Atlantis fans are dying to see you outrun Bolt!
