Micayle Jacobs is a 14-year-old Ballroom and Latin Dancer from Atlantis and attends Robinvale High School.
She participated in the 2017 and 2018 Rumba in the Jungle competition held at Sun City, and won the Ballroom and Latin section.
Micayle spends two days a week and weekends at Borez Dance Studio, where she practises for several hours and works very hard to achieve her goal that she has set out for herself in her dancing career.
In July, she travelled to Denmark during the school holidays to participate in that country’s Summer Dance Cup and Camp.
Whatever anxiety she may have had over meeting her dance partner for the first time was eclipsed by her enthusiasm for participating in the tournament. The two danced in the Latin section and won first place.
Participating in the 2019 Summer Dance Cup costs R40 000, which covers accommodation, flights and attire.
