Atlantis Police Station Commander Michael Ledimo says police are ready for the coming festive season.

“Preparation and proper planning have been done in partnership with all other relevant role-players,” he said.

“These include Law Enforcement, Metro Police, the neighbourhood watch and other crime fighters of the community.”

Saps has issued the following safety tips to residents:

. Please do not drink alcohol before going swimming.

. Do not leave any valuables in car.

. Do not throw any glass objects into the sea or pools.

. Keep a close watch on your children and loved ones.

. Do not drink and drive.

. Please make sure all your doors are locked before going to bed.

. Any person leaving their homes should inform the Atlantis Saps at its Community Service Centre and complete a Saps 2 form at the counter.

. Handbags should not be left in shopping trolleys at all.

. Rather pay your bills with your bank card at the till points and refrain from collecting cash at the ATMs.

. Never walk with large amounts of cash on you.

Ledimo and his staff also want to wish the community a blessed festive season and offer their best wishes for 2019.

He also urges the community to continue to share crime-related information with Saps.
