Atlantis police members recently acted swiftly on information received of a firearm at a house in Pella.
On their arrival there on Friday (18 November) at 21:30 the house and yard were searched and they found a shotgun hidden below the ground.
A woman (50) was arrested and appeared in the Atlantis Magistrates’ Court, where bail was opposed. She was sent to Pollsmoor Prison in Tokai, Cape Town.
According to Captain Lisa Munro local police also received information of an illegal firearm at a shack in Neptune Castle on Wednesday (23 November). After a thorough search bullets and magazines were found in a speaker box and a 9 mm pistol. A man (36) was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
A third search of a house in Grosvenor Avenue saw police find a zip-gun and a male was arrested in possession of a home-made firearm and ammunition. Once charged, the suspect is expected to appear in the Atlantis Magistrates’ Court.
