Thanks to Atlantis police and the community two persons with handmade firearms, known as zip guns, were arrested.
According to Capt Cyril Dicks, police spokesperson, the two were arrested during two separate instances in Bergplaat Street and Freemont Lane Sherwood Park last weekend for being in possession of firearms and ammunition.
The firearms will be kept safe for the duration of the court case and also sent away for testing. Persons found with real or handmade firearms will be arrested and trialled in a court of law.
